In this way Association "Inside" strengthens and promotes the European values – respect to the rights of all members of the European family regardless of sex, age, race, physical or mental development and other; paying attention to human values; recognizing the interests of individuals; recognition of the inalienable right to full self-realization, the right to free choice of ways and means of implementation in accordance with their own physical, intellectual and emotional potential. That no doubt leads to positive change in the public consciousness.
In terms of the fact that Bulgaria is a new member of the European Union, we believe that our projects are aimed at strengthening the European citizenship through mutual knowledge of the Bulgarian culture and the culture of the partner countries in this regard.
In early 2013 we decided to expand the activities of the Association "Inside" and realised our first successful experience in the voluntary service . Therefore, the project "In general way to success" gave an invaluable experience to our organization that hopefully we will continue successfully. Our expectations were fully justified – after all, we succeeded in accomplishing all of the objectives that were planned. Besides the personal experience for our association, there is another important quality result that will be a huge success for our future activities – a good partnership with the sending organizations that we hope to be the basis for other projects within the objectives and priorities of the program "Erasmus plus"..
The project allowed the participating volunteers to be involved in the joint actions of our organisation with the Resource Centre at the Regional Inspectorate of Education – Smolyan, Union of Disabled Smolyan and Day centre for children and adults with disabilities "Zvanche". The project was aimed at the formation of tolerance and empathy for different young people and changing attitudes in the community towards people with disabilities and raising the profile of the local institutions and organisations. The main method of work was Workshop. The aim was, through various activities and arttherapical activities of the volunteers in the cooperating organisations to work systematically in order to educate young people how to accept differences and to send a message of friendship to other young people. The project activities took place in the town of Smolyan. It involved 24 volunteers from Turkey, Spain and Poland for two months.
A continuation of the project "Everybody can fly“, made by the Association "Inside", Smolyan. It was the idea of young people with special needs, who had actively participated in the previous project and showed impressive skills and talents. With this project we supported them and gave them the opportunity of self-assertion and approval by the society. "Road to the Stars" is a four-youth exchange between Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Greece, in which the main goal was the self-fulfillment and social integration of young people with special needs through knowledge of foreign cultures, teamwork and involvement in activities, related to arts - traditional dances, modern dances and libretto. Libretto is a dance with a storyline, which corresponds to the theatrical activities of our previous project. Thus, by the means of art and culture, the participants' attention was focused on building a more tolerant attitude and solidarity towards young people with special needs as a part of the European family.
The main objective of the project was achieved through teamwork at learning new dances and rehearsing them - Greek, Romani, Turkish, Vlach and Bulgarian dances and songs from different genres of music and libretto. All of this was presented on the stage of the Rhodope Drama Theatre – Smolyan with the title "Road to the Stars" in front of audience, consisted of children, young people with special needs and the general public. An additional motive for the selection of dances as a core activity in our project, was that they represented a kind of therapy for young people with special needs. The fact that all participants in the exchange were from the Balkans further helped to increase public interest in the development stage, which involved young people with special needs and their peers.
A bilateral youth exchange between Bulgaria and Greece. The main objective was to create conditions for an intercultural dialogue, tolerance and social inclusion of young people with a different ethnicity. To achieve the objectives of the project, we realized activities – games and competitions for the development of individual skills and strengthening their physical and mental health. The new realized project "Games – a cultural bridge among people" showed how through games young people can acquire skills for work in a team; team interaction in the presence of cultural differences; team management; solving of problems; motivation; creating a positive opinion about themselves; self-discipline; public speaking about their own achievements.
The main activities, planned for the youth exchange, were: intercultural evenings, competitions, games of the nations, meetings with local organizations, related to youth issues, discussions on current youth issues, knowledge of foreign cultures, debates, creative activities for acquisition of new knowledge and skills, outdoor activities. In this way we demonstrated the unifying nature of the different traditions, the good teamwork and the initiative of young people for solving of the European politics. Working together as a team, in an unconventional way, we were looking for innovative approaches to solutions of these problems.
The main objective was the creation of conditions for an intercultural dialogue, tolerance and social inclusion of young people from the three ethnic groups in Smolyan. To achieve the objectives of the project, we provided conducting of games for creating trust, games for self-affirmation and self-knowledge, games for initiative and creativity, games for self-representation /self-advertising/; games for taking responsibility and others. The project activities started with the presentation and reproduction of games, specific for the three ethnic groups. The most popular games for each culture were presented, which strengthened the intercultural dialogue and helped to build tolerance among the young people.
The main activities were held over two consecutive weekends in the hotel "Dikas" – Smolyan. The group consisted of 12 young people, who were representatives of the three ethnic groups. The main activities were led by a coach, who modeled the process. In the planned activities we used interactive methods, based on providing opportunities for an active involvement and participation of the young people in the activities of the project. That ensured the acquisition of a practical and emotional experience for a successful social inclusion and enhanced intercultural dialogue.
In the course of the project we created conditions for overcoming the social exclusion of young people by organizing of activities, related to the development of their individual abilities, as well as their inclusion in activities for strengthening their physical and mental health.
An idea for upgrading of the realized project BG/A1.2/084/2009/R1 – "Development of youth resources". The main objective of the project was the creation of prerequisites for the establishment of social equality by encouraging an active participation of young people in the public life, a development of their tolerance and cooperation.
The activities were held on weekends in the hotel "Dikas" – Smolyan, in an appropriate for the aim hall, the groups were two. They were led by an artist consultant in applied arts and a psychologist /coach/. The main activities included painting on canvas with oil paints and other art techniques on the following subjects:
All paintings, made by the young people, were arranged in a three-day exhibition with the message – "Together we are strong".
The project provided an opportunity for an active involvement and participation of the young people in the planned activities. This contributed to the acquisition of a practical and emotional experience for a successful social inclusion.
An idea for support, influence and assistance to a target group, believing that the evaluation and development of the internal potential and skills are fundamental to the foundation of some future successful people. The main project activities included a motivational training and two three-day trainings sessions. They were held in June 2009, with young people from Smolyan, and covered the following topics:
The informal trainings were aimed at enriching the knowledge and skills of the young people on current topics that were important and meaningful for them. The impact of the project on the target group consisted mainly in provoking their active participation as sharing their problems, looking for an individual effective solution, increasing their human resources – and thereby their competitiveness.
